The Presence of God
We can’t manufacture the closeness and presence of God, but we believe that He is present when we gather to worship Him, His son Christ and His Spirit. We expect God to meet with us and minister love and truth to us. Feel welcome to join in.
A Warm Welcome
You will meet people who love and care for others; people like you, with different ages, backgrounds and values. You’ll be greeted by our welcoming team and receive a welcome packet that gives more details about SouthGate. Expect to find everyday people who are discovering God’s purpose in their lives.
A Casual & Friendly Atmosphere
SouthGate is not concerned with what people look like or how they dress. You will discover a relaxed and friendly atmosphere filled with normal and genuine people building relationships. You will mostly find people casually dressed so come in what is comfortable for you. If it is your first time visiting, we’ll try to make you feel comfortable and give you room to feel things out. Don’t be concerned about being pointed out, embarrassed in any manner or asked to give financially. You are our guests and we’re blessed to meet you.
Meaningful Worship Services
Our worship services are generally last one hour and a half. They are filled with modern worship music and arrangements with a specific focus on incorporating all ages. Expect to discover people worshiping in various manners: standing, bowing, raising hands, sitting and clapping.
Children, Youth & Family Integration
We value keeping families together for worship, which is often the first 35-40 minutes of the service. Children then go to age-appropriate classes during the sermon- teaching. There are classes from nursery through middle school.
Learning, Following & Sharing
We value providing care and spiritual formation for every Christ follower. This can be achieved in a number of ways at SouthGate: worship services, small groups, unique studies and various ministries. Perhaps you would like a place to connect with younger mothers or pray with a group of guys… these and more can be discovered at SouthGate. Plus, as you grow and learn what your gifts and passions are, we want to join in seeing those used in various ways to equip and serve others.
Accessible Pastors & Elders
Expect to meet one of the pastors or elders before, during or after the worship service. Generally, the pastors are in the welcome foyer or in the sanctuary before and after the services and can take time to meet you and even pray for you if you prefer.
